India loses to Malaysia

Defending champion Malaysia handed out a 67-41 defeat to India to top the league standing in the Asian Youth girls netball championship at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

After a day of rest, the teams meet again in the semifinals on Friday.

In the other semifinal, second placed Singapore faces Sri Lanka. India, with two victories and three losses finished the round-robin phase in the fourth spot, ahead of Thailand and Hong Kong in the six-nation league.

The results (round-robin league): Malaysia bt India 67-41; Sri Lanka bt Hong Kong 60-33; Singapore bt Thailand 60-49.
