The first game of the World chess championship match between champion Viswanathan Anand and challenger Veselin Topalov on Saturday has been deferred by two hours.

The opening game will now be played from 1700 hrs (1930 hrs IST). Anand will start his title-defence with black pieces in the 12-game match.

The decision of the organisers was to facilitate the arrival of the Bulgarian Prime Minister and the Head of the Organising Committee Boiko Borisov from Varna, situated at the other end of the country.
