Rana extends his advantage

Team Maruti’s Suresh Rana extended his advantage to 24 minutes and 32 seconds in the Xtreme category on the penultimate day of the 11th Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm. Sunny Sidhu of Chandigarh remains in second place, followed by Lohit Urs who trails the former by 15 minutes and 37 seconds. The fight for the title in the Ndure event, however, is still alive as the Team Maruti duo of K. Prasad & Somdev Chanda and Parth Beniwal remain in contention.

Team Maruti finds itself in a strong position in the Xplore category too, with two of the top three spots being currently held by its drivers. Satish Gopalkrishnan trails leader Sanjay Takale by 24 seconds.

Elsewhere Team Polaris’ Raj Singh Rathore is ahead of the pack in the Xtreme Quad competition, followed by Brandon Glissmeyer.

In the Xtreme Moto event, Vijay Parmar holds a three-minute advantage over Mohit Verma. German rider Stephan Rausch is a further couple of minutes behind in third place.

Ahead of the final stage on Saturday, only 25 per cent participants remain in each category.
