India’s Jehan Daruvala on Saturday stormed to back-to-back victories in the FIA Formula 3 Championship after starting second on the grid.

It was the first time that the Mumbai-based driver won the feature race of the championship after qualifying behind Jake Hughes.

Formula 3 is now a support series to Formula 1 with the French Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday.

Daruvala, representing Prema Racing, had won the sprint race in Barcelona last month.

There was heartbreak for polesitter Hughes, who lost P1 to the Indian, before making contact with Marcus Armstrong while battling for position and dropping to the back of the grid.

Robert Shwartzman took advantage to claim P2, with Pedro Piquet completing the podium.
