The International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Tuesday said while it was aware of the settlement between Hockey India and the Indian Hockey Federation, it would not make a statement on the arrangement until it read the details of the power-sharing between the two factions.

The warring Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation on Monday set their differences aside and decided to work together under a temporary arrangement at the behest of the Sports Ministry.

“Following Monday’s discussions led by the Sports Minister between Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) can confirm it has been informed that a settlement has been reached to work together,” FIH said in a statement.

“The FIH will receive comprehensive details about the settlement in the coming days. Upon receipt, the FIH will assess the information before releasing a statement later this week. Until the FIH has had time to process the details of the agreement in full, no further comment can be made,” he added.

According to the agreement reached after a marathon eight and half hour-long meeting among HI, IHF and Sports Ministry officials yesterday, it was decided that the two bodies will not merge but will work together till December 2012 for the betterment of the game
