Valencia has bought midfielders Fernando Gago and Sergio Canales from Spanish champions Real Madrid, the two clubs announced early Friday.
The clubs did not disclose the transfer fees, but media reports have suggested that Valencia will pay around 3.5 million euros for Gago and around 8 million euros for Canales.
Gago, 26, joined Real from Argentine club Boca Juniors in 2007 but never managed to win a regular place in Madrid. He was loaned out last season to Italian side AS Roma.
Canales, 21, joined Real from Racing Santander in 2010 but failed to impress coach Jose Mourinho. Last season he was on loan at Valencia and managed to convince Los Ches of his quality despite suffering two serious knee ligament injuries.
