The I-League organising committee of the All India Football Federation awarded ONGC, Mumbai full three points and three goals, despite its 4-1 loss against Royal Wahingdoh on March 16, in the second division I-league final phase match at Siliguri.

ONGC had lodged a protest against Wahingdoh for fielding four foreigners at a time, which is against the rules of the tournament. The AIFF committee, after going through the report of the match commissioner, declared ONGC the winner.

Following the ruling, ONGC moved to the second position in the league standings, tallying 10 points from five matches, while Wahingdoh dropped to the fourth position, netting four points from five matches.
