Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is putting in up to five hours of extra training each day so he can complete the season unaffected by injuries.
The Spain international has completed the last four matches after a season punctuated by groin problems.
And he said that “I do the normal training session with my teammates, but before and after I have to do treatment, exercises and gym work to make my leg strong enough.”
Torres believes he will have to continue with the rigorous fitness regime for the rest of the season to ensure Liverpool captures one of the four Champions League places.
Last season’s Premier League runners up are seventh in the standings, four points behind fourth-place Tottenham.
