Manchester City received a setback in its bid to reach the top four of the Premier League, needing an equaliser from Patrick Vieira to draw 1-1 at home with Blackburn on Saturday.

Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson made a string of impressive saves but was beaten by Vieira in the 55th minute at Eastlands Stadium. It was Vieira’s second goal for City since arriving in January.

Croatian striker Ivan Kalinic put Blackburn 1-0 up in the 25th following a mix-up between Kolo Toure and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Man City attackers Carlos Tevez and Shaun Wright-Phillips both missed good scoring chances.
