Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has called Nuremberg striker Albert Bunjaku into his World Cup squad to replace injured forward Marco Streller.

Bunjaku, 26, who has two caps, scored 12 goals in 28 games for Nuremberg in the German Bundesliga last season.

Basel striker Streller, 28, has been forced to pull out after tearing a thigh muscle in training.

“Marco’s injury is a huge disappointment for us all but we have to look forward,” Hitzfeld said at the team’s training camp at Crans-Montana.

“I have decided to nominate Albert Bunjaku because he is a player who can be used in several positions.”
