Diego Maradona's Argentina was the third team to arrive in South Africa when they landed in Johannesburg on Saturday, following Australia and Brazil.

Coach Maradona and the players led by World Footballer Lionel Messi arrived at Johannesburg and then drove to their base camp in Pretoria amid tight security.

The two-time world champions had earlier been sent off to South Africa by thousands of fans in Buenos Aires.

Argentina are drawn in group B with Nigeria, South Korea and Greece at the June 11-July 11 World Cup.

Australia and the record five-time World Cup winners Brazil had arrived in South Africa earlier in the week.
