Daniel Vettori was pleased with the improvement Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowling has shown.

The RCB coach said here on Friday, “We are really satisfied with the way we bowled in the last game [against Mumbai Indians]. We got our combination right. Tim Southee was exceptional, Mohammed Siraj is improving, Umesh Yadav and [Yuzvendra] Chahal have done well. We have been constant with that group.”

The former Kiwi captain and left-arm spinning all-rounder added, “The execution with the ball will be the defining factor in the game here.”

Vettori had words of praise for Colin de Grandhomme and his big hitting. “Colin did a great job in the last game. His runs in the last over was the difference between us winning or losing. Finishing plays a part if your top-order batsmen do not do well.”

Talking about all the runs being scored in this IPL, he said, “In the last game against CSK, 200 was chased down by them. Any time a batting group comes to a good wicket, they are excited. It’s not easy for the bowlers.”

Vettori said RCB was playing in Pune after quite some time. “We need to look at the conditions, the wind, it’s a day time game. We need to get acclimatised.”
