The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday confirmed that India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to a knee injury sustained during the ICC Cricket World Cup last month.

“The IPL Technical Committee has approved a replacement for Mohammed Shami in the Delhi Daredevils team. Shami has been ruled out of the ongoing Pepsi IPL season due to a knee injury. The Delhi Daredevils therefore have the option of picking a replacement player,” an IPL media release stated.
