Clarke and Smith shared a stand of 163 — Australia’s highest partnership for the seventh wicket vs India at Adelaide.
In all, there were three rain interruptions during the day on which merely 30 overs could be bowled.

India virtually snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, slumping to an agonising 48-run loss in the pulsating first cricket Test against Australia despite captain Virat Kohli’s gallant second successive hundred in Adelaide.
