Exciting win for South

G. Shiva Krishna (57) and M.S. Ramakrishnan (two for 10 off four overs) were instrumental in South Zone pulling off a thrilling three-run win over West Zone in the JK Bose cricket tournament which got underway here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 126, West was cruising at 99 for three in the 17th over before losing the plot.

In the other match, East Zone thrashed North Zone by nine wickets.

The scores:

South Zone 125 for seven in 20 overs (G. Shiva Krishna 57, Devendra Pandey four for 23, Etheram Ali two for 17) bt West Zone 122 for five in 20 overs (Ashwin Ferro 29, M.S. Ramakrishnan two for 10).

North Zone 112 for five in 20 overs (Chetan Sharma 31) lost to East Zone 114 for one in 15.5 overs (Sukesh Behera 52 n.o., Alapan Saha 25).
