Bangladesh's Shafiul Hayet did not have any clue to this vicious one from India's Mayank Dagar in the under-19 tri-series on Friday.

A superb spell by pace bowler Avesh Khan helped India beat Bangladesh by 82 runs in the opening match of the International under-19 cricket tri-series at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus ground on Friday.

Chasing 159 for a win, Bangladesh was all out for 76 in 22 overs.

Opening the bowling for India, Avesh took a wicket off the first delivery surprising the Bangladesh opener Mohammed Saif Hassan with pace and movement. The tall bowler, who made his first class debut for the Madhya Pradesh Ranji team this year, hit the deck hard with raw pace giving the batsman little time to adjust.

Avesh produced a wicket each in his next three overs to send back the top order batsmen by the seventh over of the Bangladesh innings.

Avesh almost singlehandedly ended the resolve of the visitors in his spell of six overs where he conceded just four runs (6-3-4-4).

Reduced to 23 for four in 6.2 overs, Bangladesh could never recover from the setback seeing its innings folding up in 22 overs. Shafiul Hayet Ridoy (26) was the lone Bangladesh batsman offering some resistance to the Indian attack as left-arm pacer Kanishk Seth and leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari accounted for two wickets each.

Earlier, M.S. Washington Sundar held the Indian innings together with a patient 34 as his colleagues on the other end left in a hurry. The left-handed opener was dismissed by Bangladesh captain and off-spinner Mehedy Hasan Miraz reducing India to 62 for five.

Anmolpreet Singh (28), Zeeshan Ansari and Shubham Mavi (25) took the Indian total beyond the 150 mark. Miraz was the pick of Bangladesh bowlers scalping three.

India earned five points from the win.
