India’s assistant coach Sanjay Bangar said that the pitch at the VCA stadium here is result-oriented wicket that would challenge both teams equally.

“The team that adapts to it has a chance of winning the game. I think it is a test of skill; just as you have the skill to counter against the seaming ball, the skill against the spinning ball is also equally important.

“Today, all our batsmen applied themselves really well. When the wicket is slightly challenging there are likely to be certain errors in judgement, but that’s part of the game.

“It is a very challenging wicket to score and so far if you see the six completed innings in the series, it has been a low scoring series and you need to accept that.”

The South African off spinner Simon Harmer said it’s a challenging wicket for both sides.

“It was not the issue of getting the correct line, but the pace,” said Harmer.

The South African team spokesperson said that Morne Morkel had to return to the dressing room after bowling a delivery in his fourth spell because of cramps.
