February 08, 2016 11:33 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 02:10 am IST - Pune:

Right-arm fast bowler Shaminda Eranga, who has taken 52 wickets in 16 Tests, has been summoned to replace young fast bowler Binura Fernando for the three-match Twenty20 series.

The 20-year-old Fernando suffered a hamstring injury while training at the Gahunje village stadium on Sunday.

“[Tilakarante] Dilshan will be available for the Ranchi and Visakhapatnam matches,” said Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal.

“Four or five senior players are injured. But the players selected have been in good form in the domestic tournament and they can show how good they are. I am looking forward to that. We will learn a lot. We will put our heart and soul into this series,” said Chandimal at a press conference here on Monday.
