The stage is set, the walk has been perfected, sequence practised and the stance corrected as the contestants gear up for the finale of the beauty pageant on July 15 at Gurajada Kalakshetram.
Belonging to various professional backgrounds, these women have been chosen after two rounds of auditioning. Embarking on the quest to find Mrs Right, the first round of auditions were held in on July 6.
The finale will have three rounds. In the first round the contestants will be given 30 seconds to introduce themselves. The second round is dedicated to talent, where the contestants are expected to showcase their talent through songs and dance within two minutes. The final round would be the questionnaire round, where each contestant would be asked a question by the panellist.
The selected 20 contestants are being groomed for the finale by Miss Andhra Pradesh 2016, Harsha Baid for the past one week. “When they were selected they were raw andIn the beginning, they did not know much about posture, stance and walking the ramp. However, I am amazed by their inquisitive nature and the desire to learn things,” she says. The contestants are being given yoga and Zumba lessons.
The aim of the pageant is to look for a woman who is a combination of glamour, willpower, confidence and intelligence. “Beauty is no longer restricted to physical appearance. Inner beauty and intelligence are equally important to represent a woman of this era,” says Dadi.

While a few are juggling between office, running the household work and the pageant's grooming sessions, few have left behind their young children to live their dream. One thing that all the contestants would agree to is that living the dream would have been impossible without their family’s support.
