The government needs to focus on alternative sources of energy (Editorial page, “Further stressed by thermal power”, November 19). On the demand side, there has to be a lot more awareness regarding optimal use of power. Steps also have to be taken to reduce transmission and distribution losses by focussing on smart metering.
