Stem cell therapy

March 15, 2014 12:51 am | Updated May 19, 2016 08:44 am IST

The revised set of guidelines on stem cell research ( >Editorial , March 12) will be of immense value in managing, recognising and policing, besides making clear the legal, social and ethical issues involved in the handling, usage, storage and disposal of stem cells by hospitals, medical centres and research institutions across the country. Hopefully, these guidelines will be of use in treating patients with various congenital abnormalities and also in the monitoring and assessment of side-effects.
