The report, “Hamid Ansari back in India after six years” (Page 1, December 19), made for happy reading. However, it, once again, highlights the plight of former Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav. There are also cases of a number of Indians languishing in prisons across Pakistan. A permanent mechanism such as a joint judicial committee can be thought of to look into the cases of Indian and Pakistani prisoners. Their families have a right to know about their welfare.
