On NSCN (I-M)

October 08, 2015 01:17 am | Updated November 16, 2021 03:11 pm IST

The report “ >Security agencies suspect NSCN (I-M) is regrouping ” (Oct.7) is highly misleading and speculative in nature. At a time when the Indian government is exploring ways for a peaceful settlement to the protracted Naga insurgency, such reporting will jeopardise the hard-earned confidence between the two negotiating entities. The present tension between the Meiteis and the hill tribes are not because of the accord but because of the infamous bills passed by the Meitei majority Manipur State Assembly.
