‘Maggie’ Amritraj epitomised motherhood while grooming all her three sons as tennis players of repute (‘Sport’ page, “‘Maggie’ Amritraj breathes her last’,” April 21). There are very few parents who are willing to take the risk of making their children sportsmen, especially as their education can be jeopardised. One cannot ignore the financial aspects involved too in making such a bold decision. But the lady, realising her sons’ talent, boldly took the risk. It is very difficult to be a different parent but Margaret Amritraj quietly proved how resolve can produce results.
