Cry for help

August 27, 2017 10:29 pm | Updated 10:29 pm IST

The feature on the plight of senior citizens (Tamil Nadu editions, “Uncared for in the sunset of life”, August 27), with its analysis and data, had me deep in thought. Never before has there been an aversion towards and disregard for the elderly as now. The elderly being ill-treated and abandoned is now common. A society that is indifferent to its senior citizens can never thrive.
