Attack in Pakistan

May 24, 2011 12:04 am | Updated 12:04 am IST

The terror attack on Pakistan's naval airbase in Karachi is shocking. One fails to understand how terrorists sneaked into the naval base. You sow what you reap. Pakistan nurtured terror as a policy and encouraged terrorists to strike across the border in India. It is now facing the consequences. One hopes Pakistan will realise at least now how dangerous it is to hobnob with terrorists.

R. Narasimhan,

Madurai

The attack on the naval airbase has once again proved that Pakistan is a failed state. Islamabad must understand that it cannot function well unless it takes stringent action against terrorists and stops supporting terrorists both within Pakistan and across its porous borders.

The creation of Pakistan was a grave historical mistake. More serious was its change from a democratic to religious state. The language of politics in Pakistan should change. Terrorists should not be allowed to hijack it.
