Shashi Tharoor

I am reading Will Durant’s The Case for India . I discovered it only after giving my Oxford speech. I recently read Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri’s magnum opus, Neither a Hawk Nor a Dove . Next … I’d like to reread my son Kanishk Tharoor’s collection of short stories, Swimmer Among the Stars: Stories .

(Shashi Tharoor is Lok Sabha MP for Thiruvananthapuram, author, and has previously been a UN official and Union minister.)

Annie Zaidi

I just finished reading the memoir, Name All the Animals , by Alison Smith. It speaks of the grief of a young woman who loses her brother and how the incident changes her life. I just picked up Big Brother by Lionel Shriver. I’ve read one chapter so far. The premise is interesting. It talks of what happens when someone close to you has a food problem.

I want to read many books next; The Patna Manual of Style by Siddharth Chowdhury is definitely one of them.

(Annie Zaidi is a writer and poet.)
