1. Congress president poll results today

Voting ended for the Congress presidential elections as senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor faced-off for the post of AICC chief. For the first time in 24 years, no member of the Gandhi family is a candidate for the party’s top post. The results for the top post will be announced today.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday will announce the sale of an additional 15 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in December, a senior administration official said, as his administration seeks to counter market pressures created by the OPEC+ decision to cut oil production targets just three weeks from the midterm elections.

3. Public consultation on National Credit Framework from Wednesday: Pradhan

The process of public consultation on the National Credit Framework will begin from tomorrow, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Tuesday. Pradhan chaired a high-level meeting with the committee preparing National Credit Framework for School Education, Higher Education and Skilling.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur will file his nomination papers from the Seraj Assembly constituency in Mandi district on Wednesday for the November 12 Assembly elections, the BJP has said.

5. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in India on official visit

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is set to make an official visit to India from today, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. This will be UNSG’s first visit to India, since he commenced his second term in office in January 2022.

6. Akhilesh Yadav to visit Sangam at Prayagraj for immersion of his father's ashes

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will immerse the ashes of his father and Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav at Sangam -- the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river -- in Prayagraj on Wednesday. Akhilesh will be accompanied by his family members during the ritual.
