U.S., Japanese pair win Nobel Medicine Prize
Two immunologists, James Allison of the U.S. and Tasuku Honjo of Japan, won the 2018 Nobel Medicine Prize for research that has revolutionised the treatment of cancer, the jury said on Monday. The pair were honoured "for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation," the Nobel Assembly said.

Burials begin in Indonesia as rescue need becomes desperate
A mass burial of earthquake and tsunami victims began in a hard-hit city on Monday as the need for heavy equipment to dig for survivors of the disaster that struck a central Indonesian island grows increasingly desperate. The toll of more than 800 dead is largely from the city of Palu and is expected to rise as areas cut off by the damage are reached. The magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck at dusk on September 26 and spawned a tsunami said to have been as high as 6 metres (20 feet) in places.
Uzbekistan President in Delhi
Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in New Delhi on Sunday, and will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bilateral talks on Monday.
Officials said more than 30 documents and agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, including trade agreements, media and educational partnerships, and MoUs linking Andijan-Gujarat states, Samarkand-Agra and Bukhara-Hyderabad.
