Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed the concluding session of the Youth Congress' nationwide public outreach campaign ‘Yuva Kranti Yatra’ in New Delhi.

Mr. Gandhi, once again targetted the Narendra Modi government on the Rafale deal. He alleged that the Prime Minister “sold” the Indian Air Force and “stole” opportunities of the youth by giving away Rs 30,000 crore to his “friend” and businessman Anil Ambani.

Leaders across India on Wednesday paid tribute to the Father of the Nation on his 71st death anniversary, observed as Martyrs’ Day with floral tributes, devotional songs and all-religion prayer.

Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial at Raj Ghat in New Delhi.  Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were among those present.

Polling began in the third and final phase of the Panchayat elections in Telangana on Wednesday. The first and second phases were held on January 21 and 25 respectively. Polling began at 7 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m. while counting will start from 2 p.m.

A grenade thrown into a mosque in the southern Philippines killed two people and wounded four, security officials said on Wednesday, three days after twin bombings at a church on a nearby island killed 21 people. The incident took place just after midnight in Zamboanga, a predominantly Christian province in the Mindanao region. Zamboanga is just a short boat ride from the mainly Muslim Sulu archipelago where Sunday's church bombing took place.

British Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday won a few weeks to salvage a Brexit deal but headed toward a clash with the European Union by promising to overhaul the divorce agreement she spent a year and a half negotiating with the bloc.

Trying to break the U.K.’s Brexit deadlock, Ms. May got Parliament’s backing for a bid to rework an Irish border guarantee in the withdrawal deal a provision Ms. May and the EU both approved, and which the bloc insists cannot be changed.

A blast of Arctic air from the polar vortex brought dangerous, bone-chilling cold to a wide swath of the United States, stretching from the Dakotas through Maine, with snow expected as far south as Alabama and Georgia.

The Midwest was the hardest-hit region, as temperatures plunged below zero Fahrenheit (minus 18 degrees Celsius). By nightfall the mercury was hovering at 0F in Chicago, 7F (minus 14C) in Detroit and minus 21f (minus 29C) in Minneapolis.
