5.00 p.m.: An airport staff throws flowers as he welcomes Malaysian pilgrims at the Hajj Terminal at Jiddah airport, Saudi Arabia. The annual Islamic pilgrimage draws millions of visitors each year, making it the largest yearly gathering of people in the world.

4.00 p.m.: South Korean protesters stage a rally to denounce Japan's new trade restrictions on South Korea in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, South Korea, Saturday. Japan's Cabinet on Friday approved the removal of South Korea from a list of countries with preferential trade status, prompting retaliation from Seoul where a senior official summoned the Japanese ambassador and told him that South Koreans may no longer consider Japan a friendly nation. The placards read, “We denounce Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.”

3.30 p.m.: Foreign tourist cross the Dal Lake on a shikara as they prepare to leave Srinagar. The government has asked tourists and Hindu pilgrims visiting to vacate the place citing security concerns.

2.30 p.m.: Pope Francis wears a Scout scarf which was donated to him by faithful during an audience with the participants of the Euromoot meeting (Federation of European Scouting) in the Paul VI hall at the Vatican.

1:45 pm: A group of students from National Institute of Technology (NIT),Srinagar, after authorities asked them to leave campus. NIT has suspended its classes till further orders in view of the uncertain situation in Kashmir. “This is for the information of all the students of the institute that the class work for all courses stands suspended till further orders,” an order issued by the Registrar of NIT read.

12:40 pm: Osmania Medical College students protesting against the National Medical Commission Bill in Hyderabad on August 3. Resident doctors at several government hospitals, including AIIMS and RML, in Delhi had held demonstrations and withdrawn all services including that at emergency departments to protest against the Bill tabled in Rajya Sabha on August 1.

11:00 am: The photo shows waterlogging at Thane station. Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai and adjoining suburbs on August 3, leading to waterlogging in several areas. Water-logging on tracks disrupted the suburban train services to some extent, as locals were running behind schedule by around 15 minutes.

10.00 a.m.: Lifeguards and search and rescue personnel work at the site of a cliff collapse at a popular beach Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, in Encinitas, Calif. At least one person was reportedly killed, and multiple people were injured, when an oceanfront bluff collapsed Friday at Grandview Beach in the Leucadia area of Encinitas, authorities said.
