The Air Force has dismissed a Wing Commander for demanding a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from officials of a foreign vendor at the Aero India show in Bangalore in 2011. General Court Martial (GCM) recommended Wing Commander A.K. Thakur’s dismissal last year but the officer had approached the courts, IAF sources said here on Tuesday. The findings of the GCM have now been confirmed by the Air Force headquarters. The GCM had found him guilty of seeking bribe from French firm Dassault Aviation for allotting a slot for better display of Rafale aircraft in the static aircraft display section at the Aero India show.
