Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, going into rhyme over recent leaks, including CBSE exams papers, to say that the “chowkidar” (watchman) is weak.

The BJP retaliated, saying the Congress chief was referring to the previous United Progressive Alliance rule.

“Rahul Gandhi is remembering his days,” Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at a briefing after a Cabinet meeting.

Using Twitter as his platform to attack the government, as he has been doing with clockwork regularity lately, he used the hashtag BasEkAurSaal , a reference to the government being left with one year of its term.

''How many leaks? Data leak! Aadhar leak! SSC Exam leak! Election date leak! CBSE papers leak! There is a leak in everything, the ‘chowkidar’ is weak,'' Mr. Gandhi said in a tweet that was in Hindi and English.
