Terrorism in India is an outcome of the appeasement policy being pursued by the Congress, according to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Earlier, in the Congress-led government, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had sown the seed of appeasement by linking religion with the country’s resources. Terrorism is an outcome of the Congress’s appeasement policy. As long as the policy of appeasement continues, the country will not overcome the crisis,” he told the BJP’s booth-level workers at Bhawanipatna, district headquarter town of Oidsha’s Kalahandi.

“When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, he never said he would work on the basis of a particular caste, creed or religion. He said his government would work for India’s villages, poor, farmers, youth, women and all sections of society without any discrimination,” he said.

The BJP neither believed in a policy of appeasement nor did let anybody play with India’s security. The party worked for all sections of society, he asserted.

Army's warning

“Our brave jawans are busy wiping out terrorists on the border and giving befitting replies to Pakistan. The Indian Army has warned that anyone who has picked up gun will be killed and eliminated. The statement has created new confidence among all Indians,” he said.

Only the Modi government could give a befitting reply to Pakistan-sponsored terrorists who are playing with the security of India's people and its sovereignty, he observed.

“It was earlier said in Kashmir that retaliatory firing begins only when terrorists opened fire first. When the BJP came to power, it was made clear that if anyone tried to endanger people’s security and the country’s sovereignty, they should be taught a lesson in their own language,” he said.

“Pakistan and Pakistan-backed terrorists have become desperate when our brave soldiers have managed to establish peace in Kashmir by neutralising terrorists one after the other. Fight against terrorists is not a fight of any individual or party; it is a fight of the whole country. Every citizen of the country should take a pledge to work under the leadership of Mr. Modi,” he added.
