Youth and students celebrate the philosopher’s 152nd birth anniversary

Swami Vivekananda’s 152nd birth anniversary was celebrated by youth and students at many educational institutions and offices across the district on Monday.

Participating in the programme organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra at the New Ambedkar Bhavan here, Mayor Akula Sujatha wanted the youth to emulate Swami Vivekananda and follow his message to lead a good life. The great saint infused new enthusiasm into the youth with his discourses and ideals, she said.

He was a great intellectual and wanted the youth to tread the right path for building a healthy society, she said. She also gave away prizes and cash awards to those youth organisations that emerged winners and runners-up in the competitions held as part of the Youth Festival.

The IKP Project Director P. Venkatesham, ZP vice-chairman G. Sumana Reddy, the NYK coordinator M. Ramchander Rao and others were present.

Celebrations in Karimnagar

Special Correspondent from Karimnagar adds:Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma has called upon the youth to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda to achieve their desired goals.

Participating in the birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda here she said that Swami Vivekananda had showed the power of India to the world through his teachings.

Stepkar CEO Ali, manager Neeraja, women’s polytechnic college principal Rajeshwara Rao, ITI college principal Kavitha, youth award winner S. Srinivas and others were present.
