May 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - WARANGAL:

The District Congress Committee (DCC) president, N. Rajender Reddy, lashed out at the TRS government and alleged that it failed to keep up its promises.

He sought to know the reasons for the government to celebrate when people are not happy with its governance. “The TRS party ignored the families whose members died for the separate Telangana cause. Chief Minister K. Chajrasekhar Rao camped here and promised to build housing to the poor, but it was strongly opposed by the same people in slums,” he said.

The Congress leader wanted the Chief Minister to speak about the promise of underground drainage to Warangal city. Similarly, many promises made to the people such as Kaloji Kalakshetram, health university much-talked Kakatiya festival were forgotten.

Mr .Rajender Reddy said scores of students came onto roads to support the TRS expecting more jobs. But even after one year in office, the party failed to notify a single job in the State. The party also promised much to Dalits.

The Congress leader said as the government remained indifferent to problems facing the universities in the State. Mr Rajender Reddy said it was the Congress party, which was responsible for separate Telangana State. The party would celebrate the first formation day on a grand scale by putting up huge hoardings of AICC leader Sonia Gandhi and unfurling national flag at the party office and across the district.
