Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has termed the landslide victory of the party as that of Telangana people and their self-esteem.

Speaking to newspersons at Siddipet on December 11, after winning the Assembly seat with a huge margin of over 1.22 lakh votes, Mr. Harish Rao said, “It's historic both for the people of Telangana, TRS and party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao as people have reposed their faith in KCR in a huge measure”.

The grand alliance led by the Congress with TDP, CPI and TJS in the group was pushed into disarray by the people of Telangana, Mr. Harish Rao said. He added that in spite of the alliance's efforts to defeat the TRS with money power it had emerged victorious overcoming the conspiracies as it had done during the movement for statehood to Telangana.

Mr. Rao suggested the Opposition parties to stop playing a spoilsport in the development of the State and be a constructive force to win over people. Besides, the election results had proved that there was neither Congress nor BJP in Telangana but it was only TRS.

“Personally, I am indebted to the people of Siddipet constituency life long for their faith being reposed in me in every election. I will use all my resources to develop the constituency further and keep it ahead of others as the people have given me the highest possible majority”, Mr. Harish Rao said. He stated that the TRS would dedicate the victory to its activists.
