The eco-tourism department of Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district plans to offer one more place to nature lovers for camping.

The Pandavula Gutta in Regonda mandal, which is popular for its rock art paintings, will now have night camping facility too. Tourists can go there to observe the paintings and at the same time, trek through the rocks to discover nature in its pristine form. The district forest department is currently offering several adventurous activities for tourists including trekking, rappelling and rock climbing services.

District forest officer S.V. Pradeep Kumar Shetty said, “We have decided to introduce a package of ₹1,500 per person which will include 20 hours of activities like night camping with bonfire, rock climbing, rappelling, trekking and food charges. A tourist can carry a baggage of only 1 kg, including a torch, wear loose dress and trekking shoes. Plastic is prohibited. This would be a complete eco-friendly trip.”

District eco-tourism coordinator K. Suman said tourists who are interested in night camping can reach Warangal by road or rail. Bhupalpally-bound RTC buses from Hanamkonda bus station will drop tourists at Kothapalli cross after Regonda. Pandavula Gutta is 10 minutes from the main road. Details can be sought on 7382619363.
