In the first case, 40-year-old Velma Venkatram Reddy working for a global IT company and hailing from Arepally village in Machareddy mandal of Kamareddy district drowned while sailing in a boat along with his friends on a river in Dallas. The accident took place when Reddy had come there for weekend trip. He drowned immediately and his body was fished out.

He is survived by wife Vani, also working in the US, son Rohan Reddy and daughter Medha Reddy. His elder brother, Venkat Reddy, lives at the village. Friends and relatives are trying to bring the body to the village but they could not be reached for comments and details.

Killed in bike crash

A 20-year-old youth, hailing from Tirumalayapalem of Khammam and pursuing engineering course in Ohio, died in a road accident.

Sources said Kondabala Venkata Prithvi, son of Kondabala Karunakar, Telugu Desam Party mandal unit president of Tirumalayapalem, was killed in a motorbike crash at Pleasant Township of Franklin County in Ohio on Sunday evening.

A pal of gloom descended on the house of the deceased in Tirumalayapalem as the tragic news spread on Monday. Relatives and friends of Prithvi besides some TDP leaders consoled the parents of the deceased. The TANA team square volunteers in the US are reportedly coordinating with the officials concerned in Ohio to send home the body in two or three days, sources said.
