TS government staff take agitational path

Employees and officers of Telangana government on Wednesday launched an agitation protesting special powers to the Governor in the maintenance of law and order as per Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act. The non-gazetted officers participated in lunch-hour demonstrations all over the State, particularly Collectorates of Nalgonda and Nizamabad and Zilla Parishad offices of Khammam and Warangal. A demonstration was also held in Sanatnagar here. A meeting of Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association presided by Mahabubnagar MLA V. Srinivas Goud decided to organise a major meeting of staff against the proposal at Nizam College. The staff will proceed on a ‘Chalo Delhi’ programme to highlight the issue at the national level.
