TRS will face BC backlash, says Yaskhi

June 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

Congress spokesperson Madhu Goud Yaskhi has demanded that local MP K. Kavitha and Nizamabad (urban) MLA Bigala Genesh Gupta explain why they allowed to go waste an amount of Rs.2.25 crore sanctioned by the Congress Government for the construction of the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Bhavan and an statue of the 19th century social reformer.

“I fought for the release of Rs.2.25crore and added another Rs.30 lakh from my MP LAD fund. Similarly, land was also identified for the construction of the bhavan. However, the MP and the MLA deliberately allowed the amount to lapse and ignored the subject,” he told a press conference here on Thursday.

Terming it an injustice to the weaker sections, the former MP said that if the Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders failed to correct themselves, they would have to face the wrath of Backward Communities.

Accusing the TRS leaders of corruption and dirty politics, he said they had neglected the development and agriculture sectors.

Ridiculing the Ms. Kavitha’s statement that the government planned to clear Rs.37 crore in arrears due to sugarcane farmers, he sought to know why she could not keep her promise of paying dues to them within 48 hours when the farmers staged a protest before her at Yedapally.

Referring to the promise of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on taking over the Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited within 100 days of his party coming to power, he said there were no signs of a take-over even after a year.

On Ms. Kavitha’s claim that she was instrumental in getting Rs.140 crore allocated for the Peddapally-Nizamabad railway line, Mr. Goud pointed out that it was under the Congress’ rule that an amount of Rs.450 crore was spent on laying the track up to Armoor.
