The TRS district leadership has called upon people to sink political differences and join the first State Formation Day celebrations from June 2. Party district president T. Ravinder Rao said it was six-decade long dream and aspirations of people of Telangana that came true with the able leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
He wanted people to gather at the Telangana Martyrs Memorials in their respective localities at 8 am on June 2 and later join in unfurling of national flag ceremony. Senior citizens and those who excelled in various fields of art and culture would be honoured by the district administration and also the TRS party at mandal, divisional and district level.
On June 2 evening, there would be a cultural carnival planned from District Collector office to Kaloji statue and people should take part in large numbers making it a grand success. On June 7, the celebrations would conclude at Fort Warangal after week long activities, he said.
Special Correspondent adds: Karimnagar is all set for weeklong celebrations beginning June 1, marking a year of Telangana’s statehood.
“All arrangements have been made for State Formation Day celebrations from June 2 to 7,” said Karimnagar Collector in-charge and Additional Joint Collector Nagendra.
Mr. Nagendra told reporters here on Saturday that the celebrations will begin from midnight on June 1 with a grand display of fireworks. Minister for Finance Etala Rajender will hoist the national flag on June 2 at Police Parade Grounds. The six-day celebration will also feature daily cultural programmes at Circus Grounds in the evening.
The festival will also mark literary and musical programmes like Urdu mushaira and qawwali programmes, kavi sammelan, songs and dramas.
Adventure sports will be organised at the Elgandal fort on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on June 3. A massive cultural rally will be organised in the town.
Congress to celebrate Formation Day
Special Correspondent adds: The Congress will celebrate Telangana Formation Day on June 2 at all Assembly constituencies and district headquarters by hoisting party flags.
Party leaders and workers will also express gratitude to the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, for making Telangana State possible, by garlanding her flex posters and photos.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Adilabad District Congress Committee working president Naresh Jadhav and former DCC president C. Ramchander Reddy said their party will also expose the failure of TRS government on all counts.
