‘TRS hand in glove with BJP’

Failed to honour State Reorganisation Act: CPI(M)

July 15, 2018 10:22 pm | Updated 10:22 pm IST - KHAMMAM

The CPI(M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao has lashed out at the TRS government for allegedly remaining silent on the “failure” of the BJP government at the Centre in setting up the much-awaited integrated steel plant in Bayyaram and fulfilling other major commitments made in the State Reorganisation Act.

Addressing the Khammam Parliamentary constituency level meeting of the Bahujan Left Front (BLF) here on Sunday, Mr. Rao came down heavily on the TRS, accusing it of being hand in glove with the BJP.

TRS openly supported the BJP regime’s twin blows, demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) regimes, when they were launched, he pointed out, saying that the TRS has also extended its support to the BJP-led NDA in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections held in 2017.

The TRS government has miserably failed to safeguard the interests of the State and exert pressure on the Centre to honour all the commitments made in the State Reorganisation Act, he charged.

BLF strength

He said all the SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and other marginalised sections will rally behind the BLF to make the TRS bite the dust at the next hustings.

The BLF Khammam Parliamentary committee leaders A. Kanakaiah, P. Venkateshwara Rao, Raghavulu, Srikanth and others spoke.
