People from all walks of life paid rich tributes to K. Jayashankar, who championed the cause of separate Telangana, on his 6th death anniversary here on Wednesday.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar and officials garlanded the statue of Jayashankar at Ekasila Park and recalled his contribution to the separate Telangana movement. “Jayashankar guided the latest separate Telangana movement. He provided a direction and inspired people. His contribution is invaluable,” Mr. Srihari said.

Mr. Vinay Bhaskar said Mr. Jayashankar was elderly man who took part in every separate Telangana movement since his childhood days. It was his determination and knowledge that helped the people of Telangana rally behind the cause and ultimately secure the statehood for the region.
