‘Thief’ beaten to death in Nizamabad

A 30-year-old man from Banswada town was beaten to death when he allegedly tried to steal valuables from a house in Sevalal tanda under Varni police station limit in the wee hours of Friday.

The victim, identified as Sailoo, was hit with a rod by the owner of the house, when the latter tried to break open an almirah. Mr. Sailoo died on the spot. On the information of the house owner, police recovered the body of Mr. Sailoo was recovered and shifted to Varni mandal headquarters for inquest, according to Sub-Inspector of Police, Y. Sukhender Reddy. The house owner has been taken into police custody.
