Telangana CM, Governor pay tributes to Mahatma

Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao led the State in paying floral tributes to the Mahatma in Hyderabad on Friday.

Glowing tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 146 th birth anniversary on Friday.

Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao led the State in paying floral tributes to the Mahatma. At an official function organised at Bapu Ghat, the Governor and the Chief Minister along with several Ministers and other political party leaders offered floral tributes.

All religion prayers were held at Bapu Ghat. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister Md. Mahamood Ali and Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao and others were present.

Earlier, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and other Congress leaders offered floral tributes at Bapu Ghat. A steady stream of school children and general public visited the Bapu Ghat.

The Chief Minister then proceeded to the Legislative Assembly premises, where he placed flowers at the pedestal of the life size statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Assembly Speaker S. Madusudhana Chary and Council Chairman K. Swamy Goud along with other legislators attended the function.
