Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao admitted Parkal TDP MLA C. Dharma Reddy into the TRS, at a brief meeting in the party office here, on Sunday. Mr. Reddy is the third MLA of TDP to join TRS after Teegala Krishna Reddy and T. Srinivas Yadav.
Incidentally, the TRS candidate at Parkal in the last elections, M. Sahodar Reddy, and the former MLA of TRS from the same constituency, M. Bikshapathi, shared the dais with Mr. Dharma Reddy.
The Chief Minister addressed a large crowd from Parkal that had gathered, saying he was all praise for Mr. Dharma Reddy as the latter had chosen to be part of the reconstruction of Telangana. He called for the development of the new State without political and selfish interests.
Mr. Rao said he did not see the entry of Mr. Dharma Reddy into TRS as a politically significant event.
