Tadepalli Municipality to be upgraded soon

August 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 03:33 pm IST - TADEPALLI (GUNTUR):

The government is planning to upgrade the Tadepalli municipality and police station. The proposal to improve facilities in the mandal is in the context of the Chief Minister’s guest house coming up on the Krishna river bund.

Officials of the Roads and Buildings, Revenue and Panchayat Raj departments are making foolproof arrangements at the guest house, which will be readied soon.

Tadepalli is a B-Grade municipality with 23 wards. The mandal falls under the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

“Drinking water, roads, electricity and drainages would be improved in the river-bed town. Internal roads will be repaired, while the road leading to the guest house will be laid by the Irrigation Department,” an official said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s security personnel have already taken over the guest house located on the river bund. The Guntur Urban district police and intelligence officials are maintaining a tight vigil in Undavalli village where the two-storey building stands.

“At present, the Tadepalli police station is under the Mangalagiri Police Sub-Division limits, and it will be brought under the Amaravati Sub-Division Police Officer limits. The police station will be upgraded to circle level and one Circle Inspector and three Sub-Inspectors will be allotted to it,” police sources said. The local police, along with Navy or Coast Guard, will maintain vigil on and off the river shore at the guest house. Navy officials have already visited the area as part of stepping up security.

“Once infrastructure is developed in the locality, the guest house will be ready for occupation in about a couple of months,” an officer said.
