Former chairman of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and TRS leader Somarapu Satyanarayana and his followers joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of State BJP president K. Lakshman at the BJP office on Sunday.

Welcoming them into the party, Mr. Lakshman said the party’s central leadership had welcomed his entry into the party and Mr. Satyanarayana would soon meet the national leadership in New Delhi.

Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that several leaders from all the parties, including the TRS and Congress, were ready to join the party and this process would go on. He said all those joining the party would get the deserved respect.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao had given him political opportunities but of late some elements within the party were continuously insulting him and his family and the party did not come to his support. He promised that he would strengthen the BJP in Ramagundam.
