A threat of rebellion against TRS candidates in Vemulawada, Ramagundam, Manakondur, Peddapalli, Manthani and Choppadandi Assembly segments in the erstwhile Karimnagar district is gathering steam .
TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced the candidates for 12 Assembly segments out of 13 segments in the erstwhile Karimnagar district, keeping aside the candidature of sitting legislator B. Shobha from Choppadandi segment.
Even before the official announcement of the candidates, the aspirants from Ramagundam and Vemulawada assembly segments had demanded that the party refrain from allocating ticket to the sitting legislators.
However, the party allocated ticket to the sitting legislators from Ramagundam and Vemulawada Assembly segments. Ramagundam ticket aspirants Korukanti Chander, who was associated with the TRS since its inception expected the party ticket in 2014 elections, but the party had fielded Somarapu Satyanarayana.
Chander contested as Forward Bloc candidate and lost by 2,400 votes against Satyanarayana. This time, Chander expected the party ticket. But, it had been allocated to sitting legislator Satyanarayana.
Irked, he launched Praja Ankitha Yatra, appealing the party high command to allocate ticket to him and even threatened to contest independently. Similarly, Ramagundam ZPTC member Sandhya Rani also said that she would contest independently from Ramagundam.
In Vemulawada, MPP Venkatesh Goud, Chandurthi, former MPP Chiluka Pentaiah and other elected representatives have been demanding the party high command to change the candidature of Ch. Ramesh Babu from Vemulawada Assembly segment.
From Manthani assembly, TRS leader Chandupatla Sunil Reddy is sulking over denial of party ticket and allocation of the same to the former sitting legislator Putta Madhukar. He is planning to contest as independent candidate from Manthani if the party denies B form in the last minute.
In Manakondur mandal, TRS leader Oruganti Anand had objected to the candidature of Rasamayi Balakishan. His supporters have been protesting against the issuance of party ticket to Balakishan. On the other hand, Anand is also planning to contest as independent from the constituency. Following the denial of candidature to former sitting legislator B. Shoba in the first list, TRS aspirants Sunke Ravishankar, retired deputy collector Bairam Padmaiah and others are expecting the party ticket and intensified lobbying.
Even in Peddapalli assembly segment, ZPTC member Saraiah Goud had raised a banner of revolt against the allocation of party ticket to former sitting legislator D. Manohar Reddy.
